The Fixded-term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations which came into force in October 2002 protect Fixed-term employees from being treated less favourably than permanent employees. Fixed-term employees are now entitled to the right not to be unfairly dismissed and will also have a right to statutory redundancy payments.
